CIGA - California Insurance Guarantee Association 1969 - CIGA makes sure that injured individuals receive benefits if their insurance carrier becomes insolvent. CIGA settles unpaid claims of insolvent insurers operating in the State of California offering any line of insurance.
WCARF - Workers’ Compensation Administration Revolving Fund 1992 - The Workers’ Compensation Reform Act of 1989 contains several provisions designed to speed up the resolution of claims, including the reorganization and increased functioning of the division of Workers’ Compensation. The reform act created the Workers’ Compensation Administration Revolving Fund to help cover the administrative cost of implementing some of these provisions.
UEBTF - Uninsured Employers Benefits Trust Fund - created to pay for benefits to injured employees of illegally uninsured employers and applies to all policies with an inception date of January 1, 2004 or later.
SIBTF - Subsequent Injuries Benefits Trust Fund - pays additional compensation to injured workers who already suffered from a disability or impairment at the time of injury. In order for the SBTIF to provide benefits, the combined effect of the injury and the previous disability or impairment must result in a permanent disability of at least 70 percent. The fund enables employers to hire disabled workers without fear of being held liable for the effects of previous disabilities.
OSHF - Occupational Safety and Health Fund -helps to fund safety and health agencies to provide services that will implement and enforce safer working conditions for California Employees.
LECF - Labor Enforcement and Compliance Fund - funds activities of the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) an agency that works to ensure that employers comply with labor laws in areas such as working conditions and wage and hour standards.
WCFA - Workers' Compensation Fraud Assessment - fund to investigate and prosecute workers' compensation fraud.
